French Onion Soup

Serves 5

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 bags Diced Onions
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 8 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • crusty french baguette, sliced
  • shredded cheese, to garnish

Directions

In a 5-quart pot, sauté the B'gan Diced Onions in butter over medium heat until caramelized to a golden brown; stir constantly to prevent burning (8-10 minutes).

Add the white wine and continue to sauté for 2 to 3 minutes, then add the flour and stir until incorporated.

Pour in the water, onion soup mix, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil over high heat.

Reduce heat to low, and allow the soup to simmer, covered, for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

When the soup is finished cooking. Place a slice of French baguette on top of each bowl and garnish with your favorite shredded cheese.
